Optrion Shearography

Shearography is a verification technique similar to holographic interferometry for providing information about the quality of different materials in nondestructive testing, strain measurement and vibration analysis.

It is an optical method that relies on surface deformation of the component under test from thermal stress and is widely used in aerospace, automotive and materials research.

OPTRION is a spin-off from the Liege Space Center, with the goal of making Shearography a viable, reliable and cost-effective solution so that it is accessible to many industries.

The solution born in the OPTRION labs is called “DEFINDER,” a shearography system that provides all the optics and laser in one portable, durable and lightweight package, and from a software application designed with the main mission of simplifying the process of shearographic image acquisition and analysis.

Edevis active thermography
